Please Help
I was wondering if you guys could help me out by giving me advice to look for on a new to me car I am thinking of buying, it is a 2001 740i, it looks to be in great shape it has 70,000 km and has the 18 inch sport wheels. Can you tell me what to look for when buying a used bmw, what are the different models of the 740 for the 2001 year, which one is better, are there any major problems that go wrong with cars of this year, any major expences that I am going to have to pay for in the future at say 100,000 kms please tell me anything that I should know about these cars, please give me your 2 cents
as I am new to these cars, and anything is a great help to me, thanks in advance Danny. |

Re: Please Help
If you have to have a BMW do NOT buy the 7 series cars. They can't hold power steering fluid. I guarantee you at 100,000 they will get you for a leaking power steering reservoir and lines. NOT CHEAP. You can't work on these cars yourself either, they are delicate junk....just my 2 cents though.....
P.S. I work at a BMW shop. |

Re: Please Help
Nothing wrong with the 7 series, its a fantastic car and if looked after, like any car, will last a long time
I find parts in the UK are no more expensive than a Frod
