Fujimi AE86 Levin in progress

Well, this is a project from a long while back... I thought I'd resurrect it. The B and C pillars on one side were both cracked when a drunk partygoer leant on the box...And there it sat for a couple of years.

With my growing collection of Aoshima stretchwall wheel/tyre sets I thought I'd have a go at doing it, since the wheels suit the AE86 perfectly (IMO most of the other ones on the market don't). So I chucked a set of Longchamp XR4 stretchwalls on for the photo, but it may end up with SSR zeros, Starsharks, Yayoi Sakuras, Hayashi Racing, or possibly SSR MKI...Haven't really decided yet.

Body has had pillars repaired and reinforced, the sideskirts and sidestrips carved off, the front lip is from the kit, the rear wing is made from two AE86 wings sliced and diced to make one wider by about 15mm. The front fenders were flared about 4mm with some wheelarch lips cut from a cheap cartoon car kit, which I'm quite pleased with.
Primer has shown up some blemishes which will be resolved before the final paint....Which is to be Tamiya white pearl with satin black bumpers.

I hope I've achieved a reasonable balance in the body mods and wheels of making it look aggressive without it being too extreme.

You've done a great job with it so far! I hate that I never got at least one set of the stretchwalls but I'll find a set eventually.

Lookin' hot! Great work so far. It's gonna be sweet. You have indeed struck a good balance. Good think you've got a lot of those stretchwalls around. Poor people like me and Tonio are SOL findin' them now.

Re: Fujimi AE86 Levin in progress

All I can say on the stretchwalls is order as soon as you see them...I knew I'd have no chance unless I snapped them up straight away.

Damn weather has gone to pot here, so it will be a few days I think before I can lay some colour on the body.

Hiroboy, thats going to be awesome! A mate of mine had a TA22 celica with 15x7" 0 offset XR4s, its a great combination.

Are they available at Hobbyworld? I have a lot of trouble navigating their website.
