Unhappy Transmission troubles

I have a 06 Liberty Limited 4x4 3.7 V6 and auto trans. It has 2300 miles and when I turn into a driveway and go slightly up hill the trans slips. I think it happens when going from 2nd into 1st and stepping on the gas pedal at the right time the engine revs and then jerks into gear. I've taken it back to the dealer and of course they say there's nothing wrong at this time,NPF, all the usual tales. Has anybody else had this trouble and found a cure?? It's almost like the fluid goes away from the pickup or the pump looses pressure. Guess I'll hook my boat up to it and give the trans a workout it weighs a little over 5000# that might take it out. HA HA !! Any help would be appreicated.

Re: Transmission troubles

I have 03 Liberty, my daughter has a 04 Liberty, and my friend has a 05 Liberty. None of them have this problem. If It were me, I would keep taking it back to the dealer and demonstrate the problem for the service manager if necessary. If they say the problem is normal they should be able to show you one of the new Libertys that they have on the lot doing the same thing. If they deny that there is a problem, you may have to start working your way through Jeep's customer support system to bring it to the attention of someone higher up than the dealer.

Re: Transmission troubles

I saw your post on the bad gas mileage thread and I wonder if your awful mileage could be related to the transmission problem. Perhaps your tranny is slipping more than you think. I would definately bring it to their attention.

Re: Transmission troubles

I have a "06" 65TH Edition with automatic transmission and when I'm on an incline and let off the brake it'll roll back. The dealer say's it's normal. I don't think so!! The torque converter should be ingaged right?
