How to adjust clutch cable 89 5.0

I just replaced the clutch quadrent and now with clutch to the floor the clutch still dont open all the way. Can be in first with clutch in take food off brake and it will start to go slowly.

if you installed it right you should be able to pull the pedal up with your hand to reset it. ford calls it "self adjusting"

I tried that I think pulled it up as far as I could then pushed it to the floor with little bit of force like it says to. If i do it agian will it keep adjusting it?
