2000 intrigue climate control question and a couple others....
Hello all, my girlfriend just purchased a 2000 intrigue GLS with every option except sunroof and 12 disc cd changer. It is really nice car. One problem I have noticed is that is has the dual digital climate control, and it seems as though the passenger knob doesnt do anything, I can set the interior temperature to like 60 degrees and it will blow cold out the drivers side, but no matter how cold I turn the passenger side knob it still blows luke warm....I can see this becoming a problem come summer time, I did do a search but didnt really find any definate solutions. Also one more question, the fog lights dont work, the switch lights up and all, but they just dont come on....any ideas? Just wondering if any of this is common, what other things should I watch for? Any common problems? Thanks guys....

For the fogs, try changing the bulbs - they can burn out pretty fast (for a typical halogen bulb, that is). As for the climate control, the passenger side control is meant to only provide a few degrees of adjustment from the driver's side. You might need to get the actuator for the temperature doors reset. To do this, all you need to do is disconnect the battery, reattatch it, turn temp to cold, then disconnect battery again, reconnect, then turn to full heat, disconnect and reconnect battery. I think this is the procedure. You can look at other posts on the forum for more info.

i know its only supposed to change a few degrees, but it doesnt change at all. Its like in the summer with the ac on the passengers side will still be luke warm.....about the foglights I dont know if both of them would burn out like that, Id hate to spend the money on two new ones to have that not fix the problem.....thanks for your suggestions!

Re: 2000 intrigue climate control question and a couple others....
94twacker: For the climate control, i believe some of the functions are controlled a temperature sensor. Even though you have the passenger knob, you may only be able to adjust so much because of the function (A?C, heat) and the outside temperature. When this happens, sometimes you have to take it out of Auto and into manual. In the winter and summer, I keep my solely in automatic. But in the spring and fall, sometimes you need more flexibility then the ACC allow.
I don't think anything is wrong with your system. It's jsut limited for your needs. In the summer, you can do the adjustments like you want. Good luck. |

just an update, I have tried all sorts of setting, auto, manual, ac, and the pass. side works just fine for heat, but you can turn the temp all the way down to 60 and the drivers side gets nice and cold but the pass side still blows warm, this is definately going to be a problem when it gets hot out!

Re: 2000 intrigue climate control question and a couple others....
Make sure your passenger temperature knob is at the 12 o'clock position. if it is turned toward the "red", it will cause you climate control system to behave as you described.
