Re: AF Premium Membership

This is just offered as an option for those members that wish to use AF without the ads. What is the problem with having options?

Furthermore, I get emails from members all the time how AF has saved them money and or time with the information and resources available here. This is a way that a satisfied member can support the website and get a little extra by doing so.

Finally, this option in itself has been requested by many.

If you can't afford $50/year then clearly this option is not for you. AutomotiveForums.com has been and will be available for aboslutely free.

Re: AF Premium Membership

why not just ask for donations? And a space on the car? What does that mean? I love AF and once I get this new job, then donating to further the cause of the car would definitely be in order, even that + $500, but idk about this whole premium member. sounds as bad as the time we tried adding point or stars to our names for great posts or w/e. What a catastrophe that was.

I can see it now...n00bs will be so small, we don't care. It's the battle of the premiums and everyone else. Also, who has asked? 56ker's??? If they had that kinda money, they wouldn't ask because they'd have cable/DSL/broadband/whatever.

If I'm going to get extra, don't make the little area beside my post prettier with stars, a premium member logo, and no ads. ADs are how i find stuff! Give me a decal, license plate frame, mug, mousepad. Something i can physically see and have. Something useful to put blatantly.

Like I said, I love AF. been here over 4 years and I'll be happy to donate, especially if that'll get me in good to fly where ever ya'll be so I grab some photos (my new job will be witha production studio) but idk. Just seems...iffy, ya know Igor?

EDIT: NOw if that space is an AD on the car, then I'll get right to it with my new boss. I'd understand that the +$500 is for people with a business or something, but ok. yeah...that part makes sense now. ish. it's just that it is tied in with trying to appeal to teh common folk and common folk are poor. we complain about it all the time. Except the mutt with his fancy car, w/e he has at the time.

Re: AF Premium Membership

To me that more or less is asking for a donation it's just that they are giving a little something more for you doing it. I been here for a quick minute but couldn't find a donation site so this is how i did it.
You can look at it however you want: They are trying to sell you a little for a lot
or your donating and getting a small gift in return.
Not trying to start with ya or nothing it's just more than one way to look at it.

Re: AF Premium Membership

^duh

but looking at it is what makes it...it. I'm an english major. i know the whole interpret scene. Just, instead of me having pretty stars, can I have a decal? Advertise AF even more? For a month I get this, 'cause all one can afford is amonth or too, then it's over? That's what I'm getting at. At least a keychain. I know that if AF had a shop again, everyone would get something and probably major things.
