Fuse for Blower Motor
I have a 1992 Park Avenue and the Blower Motor will not kick in. Where is the fuse or Relay for this? I've checked all fuses on the drivers side as well as those under the sound insulator on the passenger side; nothing is blown. ANY help is greatly appreciated...it's COLD out there!

The fuse is in the relay and fuse panel mounted on the firewall under the hood. You will see two fuse covers after removing the rain shield. Remove the fuse cover and look inside. You will see a 30 amp fuse labeled A/C. That is the one for the blower. If you have ACC (auto climate control) the blower control module is more than likely your problem. It is located in the blower box, next to the fuse & relay panel. Let us know if you have ACC and we can give more detailed instructions for replacement of the module.

Thank you! What was happening is this: I'd be driving along and suddenly the blower would wham out. Gone. No heat. (Of course, this would only be on the really cold days. E.g., -10. This would not happen during the Summer!).
Actually the problem was not the Fuse. Underneath the rain shield as you say are two fuse boxes. No blown fuses. However, underneath each fuse box is a bank of...resettable breakers? That is the only way I can describe them. One of these on the lefthand bank was 'out'. When I pushed this in, blower worked! I may add that it is stuck in but that may or may not be the way it should be? (The one directly to the right of it will spring in and out). Any thoughts on that? On another note: this car does not have climate control BUT on the dash near and to the lower left of the radio is a circle about 2" in diameter with holes that are perhaps 1/16". I assume this is for the climate control for those vehicles so equipped...but there is nothing on the dash that makes reference to Climate Control settings, etc. I would again like to thank you for having replied so quickly; greatly appreciated! - Lyman |

Yessir, manual control. The fan does work at all speeds (Lo/Med/High) and the diagram is exactly as you say. I will take a look at the wiring behind there. This would certainly explain why it would 'come and go' at will, and then finally not at all. Whatever wire it is, it was loose in the former instance and apparently disconnected in the latter.

Be sure to check the wires going into the resistor pack for any discoloration or appearance of "getting hot". The same applies to the relay connector.
