Smile 1/24 Mclaren F1 GTR - Full Detail!!!

No pictures as yet, but Profil 24 were showing a full detail model of the 1995 Gulf F1 at Retromobile this year. I have one small photo and it looks like it will be an amazing kit, with all of the body panels being removable and a full engine. I will see if I can scan the photo and post it later.

It will be expensive, but knowing Profil the quality will be good. It should make a lot of people very happy.

Re: 1/24 Mclaren F1 GTR - Full Detail!!!

I have a Profil24 Mclaren kit, the quality absolutely sucks! The body isn't even remotely symmetrical, the engine parts all need rework because nothing matches up.

The only way I would be excited about a full detail Mclaren kit is if MFH/Studio27 were releasing it.

Re: 1/24 Mclaren F1 GTR - Full Detail!!!

So are we to understand this a completely new kit? Not based on thie old one at all, cause as Ray says that was one of P24's first ever releases and is reportedly not too flash. If it is all new, I'll have a Black, Ueno Clinic, JJ Lehto car thanks.

I have the Ueno car on my shelf about 75% done... don't beleive the hype it's actually a pretty good kit I think. The only issue I have with it are the wheels, which are resin and not so good (hence it not being done yet!). But yes, as far as I can tell, and info is sketchy, this is a completely new kit from a new master. And if you've seen their latest efforts the quality has gone way up. I have their 1/43 962 Rothamns super kit in my 'to-do' pile and it looks to be awesome. Phot-etched tub, good quality resin and a tone of detail. If they can do the same with this it should be something very special. I for one am saving already...

pic here
http://www.profil24-models.com/engli...nvenue_uk.html
go to the range link, it's down at the bottom of the page

I don't see how the comments of it being "overpriced" are valid and the S27 comments. S27 has far less detail, the fit is poor, seems like it should be a slot body rather than a kit, and the price is 50 USD more than the P24 kit.

I would bet this new kit is from the original body. I'm sure the details will be better than the original becasue P24's quality has improved greatly over the latest releases.

Re: 1/24 Mclaren F1 GTR - Full Detail!!!

I hope for the sake of those that buy the kit it isn't the original body, the body was so out of symmetry it was rediculous!

Re: 1/24 Mclaren F1 GTR - Full Detail!!!

It's surely not the same body. It's all open version. They should have start from scratch. Anyway, from that small picture, it look nice.. now lets see the price ....

Cmon, why would they start from scratch? Think about it. Just because it's all open? Nope.
