Aluminum tubing question....

Apart from a LHS, where do you get it? I've heard people say hardware stores, but I couldn't locate any in plumbing at Home Depot...

Thanks for any info

Re: Aluminum tubing question....

Docdan, can't believe you asking this just as I posted my one about Aluminium grills. Go to that site and put in tubing and same thing, they have a huge range.

Re: Aluminum tubing question....

I prefer to buy in person and SEE what I am getting.. which is why I will pay a little more for my Iwata REvolution CR but at least KNOW it is new and have it when the $ leaves my hand

maybe a craft store but honestly, scale train shops are the best for any and all scratchbuilding materials.

Re: Aluminum tubing question....

Home Depot wont have it, you need to check with Hardware Stores, Craft Stores, Model shops, and so forth.

Re: Aluminum tubing question....

Home Depot is a Home Improvement store, a store supplying all sorts of materials for residential construction.

A hardware store has tools, little gizmos, nuts and bolts, and other hardware. A hardware store would be something like ACE Hardware, or True Value.

Re: Aluminum tubing question....

not sure how it is the US but most local art supplies stores here (around me at least but i'm not sure if that counts for much since "around here"=london...) have at least a small section of model making materials such as plastic/styrene I beams, L-sections T-sections etc etc as well as various tubing and wire. It's where us architects get stuff when we can't be arsed to trawl down to 4D.
