Completed - 1930 Packard Speedster

Finished this model only a few hours ago, & thought I'd take some pics before it gets dusty like all the others.....

It's the 1:24 Monogram Metal Masters kit - but despite appearances it is plastic !! I've always liked Packards and as this kit is fully plated (Liberace style), I thought it would make a nice quick build as a break from my 1:16 Bandai Bugatti Royale which is visible in the background. The kit gives no painting instructions at all (even the photo on the box shows it with no painted detail ) but I decided to add enough to add a touch of realism - hence the radiator hoses, badging, grille & engine washes, and natural leather coloured interior & trim.

Well done. You don't see many vehicles like that on AF. It's a nice change from the usual fare. Any pics of the Bugatti?

Re: Completed - 1930 Packard Speedster

Thanks guys!

I'll post up pics of some of my other models soon (once I've got all the dust off them...) - it's virtually all pre war or '50s / '60s stuff

Re: Completed - 1930 Packard Speedster

Wish I could take the credit for the shinyness, but it's all due to Monogram's plating. However, I'm still very pleased with it as that finish left little (if any) margin for error.

Way cool! The detail painting goes a long way in making this thing stand out. Looks awesome! Thanks for sharing it, and please to share whatever else you've got.

Thanks - this is the first time that one of my models has looked better than the photo on the box
