Smile New here, just wanted to introuduce myself

Hello! I'm new to Automotive Forums(as of this week), and I am so glad I found this site! My husband and I are purchasing a second used car towards the end of March, so I have been able to ask lots of questins about the specific cars I am looking into, and I have been getting really good advice. I have been searching all over online to find out things about the cars I am interested in, and this site has been one of the most helpful tools. I am so leary of what car to purchase, becaus e I really want something dependable and reliable, but also looks decent. We had to sell both our Chryslers in Jan because the Neon needed a whole new tranny, and the Daytona (with only 68,000 miles) had a cracked head. Neither of those repairs we could afford to fix, or could do on our own. Then we bought a Ford LTD with only 62,000 miles and it has given us LOTS of grief. So I am searching hard to find a good car ( hopefully American) in our price range.
My family does car shows (for charity) in our local area of Michigan....we put our Neon in shows for almost 3 yrs, and won lots of trophys with it. We had it fixed more like a tuner, but basically just really clean, it was a '96, and people always thought it was at least a '99. My husband and I are both really good at detail work. So we had a lot of fun with that Neon. Before that car we had a Chevy Corsica, and my fav's an Oldsmobile Firenza, and a Pontiac Phoenix. All good cars for us.....except that my Firenza rusted to pieces (too bad they didn't use galvanized steel) That Firenza was so much fun to drive. My father owns a beautiful blue '67 Camaro which is my inheritance, it is a wonderful car and my daughter loves the color I have always been a pretty big GM person, but I am open to new possibilities in the future. Other than cars, we love the outdoors, camping, hiking etc. I love to read, and I collect 50's and 60's memoribilia (most specifically related to music).
I am Glad to be a part of these forums. I am sure they will be so helpful for me, and I hope I can be of some help to someone else sometime
