How to disable the daytime lights?

I have a 97 Tahoe and want to disable these lights. Is there a way too?

Re: How to disable the daytime lights?

I had a '97 K1500 and just pulled the DRL fuse in the fuse panel in the dash.

Re: How to disable the daytime lights?

I removed the fuse #15 marked as DRL relay, but they stayed on.

I'm thinking you pulled the wrong fuse if they stayed on. You got the right fuse #. It's the 3rd one down and the 3rd one back from the front, 20a yellow. Pulling this fuse will disable the DRL's but not the DRL indicator in the dash.

Re: How to disable the daytime lights?

Like they said fuse will get it but be aware it may be against the law to do it is some states and places. So do it at your own risk. Just a friendly reminder.

Re: How to disable the daytime lights?

Interesting tip CHACHO. How is the parking brake tied to the DRL's?

GM apparently just thought this was a simple way of giving you the ability to turn off the DRL without adding another switch. They tied in the circuit to the brake light switch running off the parking brake. I use this all the time... Wish I had the same function on my 98 Riviera!
