5.0 Cam

I dont have a mustang, but I do have a 5.0

Well, I am thinking of swaping cams and cant decide between
peakrpm Duration Valvelift
Torque BHP 282/282 .489/.489
2500 5500 220/220

or

peakrpm Duration Valvelift
Torque BHP 284/284 .480/.480
3300 5100 224/224

the first has good idle
second has fair idle

The second cam is the B303, right? That is what is my car right now. If you plan on supercharging I would not run either of them. The B303 is a good N/A cam, though. Is the lobe sep 112 on the first one?

You have to remember that just lift and duration does not make the cam really, it the actual timing events. The lift , lobe sep, and duration will tell you a few thing about the cam, but not everything.

I like a smooth idel as well, and I would not run the B303 if that is what you are looking for. If you want me to suggest an off the shelf cam, give me some engine mods, and what you intend the car to be used for. By no means an I am expert, but I have spent many hours researching on cams. I can head you in the right direction. Plus If you want I will throw what you have into my Desktop 2000 and see what you get. Desktop 2000 is not perfect, but its better than nothing.

Sorry, I just read the rest of your post and seen your mods. Unless you are going to upgrade heads I would not instal a new cam.

You have to remember that the engines performance is the marriage between the intake, heads, cam, and exhuast. I see that 2 of the for is takin care of, but a set of decent heads with that first cam would work. That would be the way I would go. But thats me, everyone is different.

I have seen some guys say my car is way too docile, but too me it too radical.

I should add, the Cobra intake is for more torque than HP, that is why I say the first cam should be a little better. Now if you have the intake ported out it can be oriented for HP.

Well, I was going to try to keep my car legal, but I decided to say forget it. I am planing on getting a light set of heads, but I havent looked into it yet, sugestions would defentally be welcomed. My budget is low, especally sence my massair just decided to die and I have to replace it this morning actually. But these are my plans for now.

And ford racing says the first one is good for superchargers, course, they dont give many details.

Like I said before, if it was me I would go with the first one. Try looking at Crane, Com Cams, Esky, Crower, etc their web site and see if there are anyones you like.

When I change mine I will go with a custom from Ed.
