Yeah, the title says it all.
The last few times I have been driving I smelled that electrical wiring burning smell. Well today I smelled it and looked at the heating blower motor switch and see smoke pouring out from the gap below the switch! (Its a wheel switch). The vehicle is high mileage. No fuse has blown yet. Before I go tearing into the dash I just wonder if anyone else has experienced this. I can run the blower on high with no problems. But if I run it anywhere between off and high, it will start to smoke. I suspect maybe the blower itself is going and drawing too many amps at mid range. But wouldn't the fuse blow if that were the case? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Re: Smoke from Blower Control Switch
Always a good idea to check amp draw on any blower motor or switch problem.
Also a loose connection or plugging will on the switch or blower motor circuit will cause the wiring to heat up and smoke or melt. MT

Re: Smoke from Blower Control Switch
I will try to pull it apart soon. My switch doesn't click anymore. Does everyone elses? It hasn't clicked for a couple of years now and I seem to remember that when you moved it, it used to click. Can someone check their's for me and let me know?

Re: Smoke from Blower Control Switch
I had the same trouble on my "94" Blazer. It turned out to be the transfer contact module to the rear of the sliding controls. The contact inside were loose and not making good contact in the set positions. Easy fix toke me about a hour to replace and the cost was about $35. Good Luck.........
