1997 dodge grand caravan auto door lock problem

The auto door locks on my 97 grand caravan lock as soon as the van starts instead of while driving. Has anyone had the same problem? Any helpful hints?

Re: 1997 dodge grand caravan auto door lock problem

check the door switches, especially on the rear hatch, otherwise you could have a bad module, or a non-OEM car alarm/ remote start/etc installed.

if you hit the remote door lock twice, does the car start?

Then that would be your answer, and it's supposed to do that!

Look in your owner's manual.

The door locks may be programable (GMs are anyway) to lock when the shift lever is moved or when the car starts. Don't know about Chrysler.
