New here, and have a question.. please help thanks

Hey, I am new to AF. I just got my car last week. It already has an AEM Cold Air Intake and clear bumper lights, so atleast that is done. I definately need new wheels. I'm installing a system next month, nothing huge, but it will still be nice, and I can add on later if I want to. I believe it has 15 in. wheels, I want to go with somthing bigger. I'm not an expert on this, so this is why I'm asking. I was looking at these Onsoku 17 in. Version 7 wheels. If i upgrade them to 17" will it cause any suspension/handling problems? Would I be better off to go with 16"? I have a 96 honda accord 4dr EX. Thanks for your help! :help:

If you haven't lowered it first, do it before you buy rims. Stock height and new rims don't mix. Trust me...it looks hella ugly. I would say drop it like an inch or two. Nothing major but enough to get rid of some wheel gap, but not too much to have your tires rubbing.

Now if you want to have acceleration, I'd personally go with 16" rims. Those seem to be a happy medium. 15"s seem to be too small and 17"s are bigger and heavier so it takes more to move them, thus lack of acceleration. If you want 17s, make sure you get them as light as possible. This will help your accel. But if you just want show, get whatever you like.

Upgrading to 17" wheels won't cause any suspension problems. Matter of fact, when you upgrade to a larger rim, you have to use a lower profile tire. So that you won't mess up your speedometer read out. This reduces the tire side wall. So when you take a turn there is less body roll. This is an added bonus.

93speed was exactly right when he talked about the added weight of the 17's. 16s would be better for performance. It just depends on what your goals are for you car.

Accords are not the easiest to lowr due to the A-arm location which causes freuquent rubbing issues, without the proper camber kit. So lowering is a whole different situation.

As far as rims go, 17"s are big and heavy, unless you spend over 2k.
You will notice a notcable difference in acceleration (slower) with 17"s.
Although the overall grip of and performance of a 17 tire is acceptional.

I really suggest a smaller rim and it will open the door to cheaper tires.

Tires that offer more performance and grip will increase body roll not reduce it. The reason for this is very simple the tires will enable the car to corner harder which will cause the suspension to compress more on the outboard side of the corner making the car lean more
