Airbrush purchase delayed

Decided against the cheapie harbor Freight Paasche knock-off and compressor. I have an old testors(aztek?) that just needs a new bottle (side feed) and propellant can, and will play with that until I get a better one ina month or so (when the IRS sees fit to get my money here.. mailed it Feb 3, and they say it will be mailed Mar 10 to me, and I should get it "by April 7"). I plan to use part of that to purchase a better air-brush and compressor. I will probably get a general purpose compressor and either a Paasche or Badger. I will proably get it at Michael's when the 50% off coupons run.... is there anything I need to get to go with a general compressor apart from a moisture trap to make it work with an airbrush? (i.e. connection adapter, etc)?

Is the Campbell at Wal-mart any good?
Thanks for all the help here.. by the way, the Fairlane is on the way to being fixed.. I have a friend who gave me a POS broken up duster kit in a platic bag.. guess what... only good part is a passenger side A-pillat in the body.. cut it out, trim it, sand it, CA it to the DRIVER side of the Fairlane... the little piece can befabbed with wire or maybe even the windsheild wiper... I think it just might work....

I am really thankful for all the tips and the community here! You guys are great!!!

Re: Airbrush purchase delayed

Good idea: The Aztek is better than any Harbor Freight knockoff any day.

The C-H compressor at Wal-Mart will be just fine, if a little loud, but all compressors of that type and size are. Just fill the tank before you work and spray directly from the tank and it will be much more pleasant to use.

BTW- Take that Michael's coupon and go to AC Moore and get an Iwata: SO much better than either Paasche or Badger.

Re: Airbrush purchase delayed

I've just started using a Tamiya Airbrush after years using the Badger 150 and 200 series. The Tamiya brush is superb.Reliable, easy to use and so easy to clean after use.I would recommend it to anyone. At only £35 it's a bargain too.Steve.
