04 Z71 Front End Noise

Hi everyone...I'm new to the site, its GREAT! I've got an 04 Z71 Tahoe with front end noise thats driving me nuts. Sounds like a broken shock but it isn't coming from the shock. Thanks.

I have the same problem. it sounds like the driver side front on mine. No idea what it is.

I am hoping its not anything with the 4wd. The thing kind of acts funny and a bit noisy when its in 4hi

Re: 04 Z71 Front End Noise

Do you feel it in the steering wheel? On my 2000, I would feel it in the wheel going over a bump while the steering wheel was turned.

It was the intermediate steering shaft. Do a search in the Silverado section and you will see lots of posts on it.

I did the lube kit and the noise has not come back. There is a redesigned shaft but it was hard to get at one point.
