00 jetta 2.0 auto trannies & gas mileage

I know the older jettes had probs with the auto trannies, how are the new jettas with them are they the same shitty and all, how long do they useually last with normal driving no making it kick down and whatnot..


ALso what is ppl's normal city/HWY gas mileage in these things...

We are cutting 20-23 in city w/ some hwy mixed in...Thats on a 00 jetta automatic 55k miles..

I really do not like the automatic it windes down on the hwy at 70-75 im at like 33-3500 rpms or so...I think that is pretty crappy...

anyone have any info on this..
