Re: Rare: 1988 Fiero Gt For Sale

All 88 Fieros were painted monotone colors and came stock with the black lace wheels. The gold wheels were a no cost option that could be ordered for 1988. The gray/silver lace wheels were available on the 1986 and 87 GT models. There never was a two tone vinyl, rather the pre 1988 Fieros were painted a gray or black lower trim depending on year. The 5 speed manual transmission in all 1988 V6 powered cars was a Getrag, and a standard item when equipped with a manual transmission.

It may be helpful to list your location so as anyone close by could come and inspect it, if so interested. Fieros in different parts of the country are prone to have different ailments such as hidden rust damage in cars from the northern parts of the US (snow belt) or those located close to salt water (Florida coast).

My bad, I thought it was a getrag, but according to the owners manual it is a muncie. And all the fieros I ever see are two tone, and i've never seen one with the black rims. So they must all be 87's. The car is roughly #23,000 of 25,000 I have the exact numbers somewhere. The Car is Located in Cincinnati, Ohio, about 15 minutes outside of downtown. Sorry about my fact messup. The car is not rusty, however the exhaust has some surface rust, but no holes. Contact at (513)-739-0030 Leave a message.

It IS a Muncie (so is my '88 GT). Lighter body colors got the black accent below the belly line. Darker colors got the Argent Silver. Mine is the Firemist (dark red, metallic) with the silver bottom. Pretty car. I have an '86, and the only difference in the wheels is the center cap (on mine...).

Cool cars. If my grandad gave me something before he died, I think I'd keep it the rest of my life...

Re: Rare: 1988 Fiero Gt For Sale

Hence my dilemma, I have to sell the car, I am not allowed to drive it. I need a car by next January. I don't fully understand why though, I am allowed to buy an early 70's Corvette, but I can't keep my Fiero. I will make a deal with the purchaser that if the vehicle is ever to be resold, or junked, I am the first man that gets called.

Re: Rare: 1988 Fiero Gt For Sale

Perhaps the powers-that-be don't understand Fiero. At the time of production, P-body was the ONLY American car in histroy to be built to Swedish safety standards! Their (Swedes) standards are much more stringent than US DOT.

All the BS about Fieros and "fire" is just that. The first year ('84) had bad connecting rods, and when the rod would break, it would punch a hole in the block and spew hot oil all over the catalytic converter, burning the car "down". The '85-newer 4 cylinder cars no longer had the problem, and NO V6 cars had it.

A few years ago, I had a kid in a Ford Exploder pull out right in front of me. Had no choice. T-boned him GOOD! The little P-body died that night ('86 2M6 SE), but it took the Ford out with it! The Ford was so "sprung", the boy had to kick a rear assenger's side door open to get out. I just pulled the handle, and the door worked fine on the Fiero. I came away with a sprained neck, but no other issues (QUICK stop...).

Make sure they're informed about Fiero before they make you sell it!

This is great but does anyone want to buy it? The car can be shipped anywhere.
