Installing new shocks

Sorry for this newbie question but I don't want to mess this up.

I'm about to put some new senatrac shocks on my 2002 Rodeo but for some reason I'm having a brain fart as to the hardware that comes with these shocks and where it goes.

I have two rubber gromments, 2 silver washers and one nut.

Do I use all this hardware for the top (putting one set on each site of the bracket attached to the frame) or is one of the rubber gromments and washers supposed to be used on the lower end. It seems like if I used all this hardware on the top, there would be no room to bolt it down.

I'm going to have a local shop cut these out tomorrow as well (I spent half the day trying to crank these rusted nuts off to no avail). What hardware do I need to have them save?

Also the white plastic band on the shock. Can I cut that off now or does it need to stay on while I'm installing them and then cut it off once they are installed?

Sorry if these are dumb questions but I've never installed shocks before.

it should be grommit washer grommit washer nut on the top post of the shock...the bottom portion should have its own bushings and you reuse the carriage bolt and nut from your oem setup...as far as the plastic goes its meant to keep the shock in place during shipping so as not toget dammaged feel free to remove it once you get to your mechanics shop

So if I get this straight the top of the shock should start with grommit, washer, then the bracket attached to the frame (bolt goes thru it) then grommit, washer and finally nut?

Is that correct?

Yep. Replace just the way the old ones come off. It's not too bad a job. The tops of the rear shocks were the most tricky. The sensa-tracs made a HUGE improvement on our 2002. I changed them a few years ago @ like 10000mi.

I really like sensa tracs on mine, factory ones were long past gone. I no longer get sea sick driving on the highway.

I paid someone to do mine, was worth it not to have to deal with getting the old ones off.
