Best kind of engine for a swap?
I was wondering what the best engine swap would be for the car.....what would be the most practical yet make it fast? Im new to these cars and dont know anything about em...would a lude engine or a gsr engine fit? Thanks for the responses.

I don't know anything about other ebgines to swap but you might think about puting on a turbo. I have a 89 2.2 turbo and it screams along pretty good. You might find one in a junkyard alot cheaper than new. You can look at parts from ford probes also, they are the same car.

Re: Best kind of engine for a swap?
Personally from all of my knowledge about the Mazda MX6 because i have 1993 Mazda MX6 has a KL-03 which is pretty good so far i have Injen Cold Air Intake 3in tubing with a Weapon-R Dragon Air Filter which is a real bad ass air filter cost me around $65 just for the filter and then a OBX-R Racing Headers 2.5in with a Aerospeed High Flow Catylitic Converter and to top off my exhaust a HKS High Flow Muffler and some other mods ya i wanna do this swap and just put my parts on it and put around 10 PSI of boost with some boost controller and turbo timer, but anyways u should get the J-Spec KLZE and when u get that what convert the ECU to J-Spec that will eliminate the govenor and make your redline 8000 which is pretty sick that would beat a GSR Motor anyday of the week guranteed.but ya for sure a KLZE motor lots of aftermarket support from RR racing designed a 140 MPH Probe In the 1/4 mile.

Re: Best kind of engine for a swap?
it is going to come down to what motor you already have to make that decision and how much work you are willing to put in to it if you want the best bang for your buck then go with the stock jdm replacement
