Shock and Strut
this maybe a dumb ass question but i lookin into buying shocks. but one of the guys at the speed shop said that buy some struts. wat is the difference between shocks and struts and what do u prefer money wise.

a shock is used to dampen the up and down motion of the car.
a strut is a shock but it can act as a spring too. there is not too much diff between the 2. you can refer to them either way

these days 99.9% of cars have struts.
shocks can be found on trucks, but these days some trucks are using strust also (trucks that based on car platform, for example CR-V). struts and shock have same primary function; to damper springs movment. but strut also have structual function as well, it supports weight of car. |
