TA's and Formula's

I've been into trans ams ever since the first one i owned, but what's the difference between the trans am and the formula? they both are V8's but is there any main diffrence in the cars? Is it price or performance or handling or is it just two different names used on the same car? basically I'm just curious, since I'm looking for a new ta I just wanted to know if the formula is any different..

Re: TA's and Formula's

in any year the body is the biggest difference. the TA has a spoiler lifted of the body and formula's is lower there also a difference in front bumper. the hood is same unless you go for the ws6. Enginge wise it is the same and i believe the only difference is that TA are available in manual and formulas are not.

Someone correct me if im wrong or if im missing anything.

I doubt that but i know the formula and trans am engines are the xact same. BUT the trans am has some luxury options like tractin controll and leather seats etc... From what i hear the formula is a bit faster than the trans due to the fact all those options account for more weight. Thus making the formula lighter and faster. Personally id take a trans am over a formula anyday.

For a stripper car to make FAST....Formula.
For a fast cruiser...Trans Am.

Trans Am and Formula share motors and trannys. A Formula is basicly a V8 Firebird while the Trans Am gets the options and a slightly more flashy body.

Re: TA's and Formula's

What comes standard on the Trans Am are options on the Formula.
Basicly it.

The Trans Am does appear a bit different as well.

Re: TA's and Formula's

wait a minute!!!!!!!!!

there is no manual formula?? l didnt know that!!

also trans am has many options standart and better suspension system l guess. and trans am has different body style.. when u look at it, u can tell that it is a v8 trans am but with formula u gott look at the back and see if it is a formula or hear the engine (l mean hard to tell if it is v8 or v6 )

l own a formula. l love how formulas looks (but LT1) LS1 l love how T/A looks and l would never buy an LS1 formula.
