97 Maxima GLE vs. ? Infinity G20

I got a quick question...Does my 97 Maxima stand a chance against a new G20? I'm not sure of the year of the guys car n all I know is it's a G20. It's bone stock and manual that's about it, and my Maxima is automatic with a K&N air filter. If it's older than 99 I dont care, but if it's new, what are my chances?

The G20??? A stock G20? You would kill it. Although the SR20DE motor has alot of potential, (especially if you add a "T" at the end) a stock g20 would have it's ass handed to it by a Max. Now if you are talking about the new G35 (The G20's replacement) then that's a different story. RWD, 240 hp V6 and torque to match would prolly out accelerate the Maxima.


Just to lay down a comparison, I raced my friend's G20 in my old POS civic, and we were neck and neck the whole way. Now that I got a Maxima, I said we should race again, and he keeps declining. SHit that reminds me, I gotta take down them pics of my civic and put up pics of my maxima.

My Father has a 200 Automatic Max with Stillen Headers, Nuespeed Super Charger and a Neuspeed Cat back, I myself Have A G20 with S3 JWT CAms, CAI, Custum Headers and I beet him on the 1/4 mile.

Yes when we peel out he considerably draws way in frunt of me but when I hit 4,000 to 4,500 I start gaining on him all the way to the end.

Now I dont beet him by much but I still win.

Maybe cuse his is an Automatic? I dont know both are great cars

you didnt beat your dads max. 0-60 times out of my 97 r&t read the max w/ auto. 7.5 to 60. the g20 is nearly 10 sec. also stillen supercharged a 97 max in scc and dropped its 60 to 5.8 sec. with the other mods you speak of its probably hitting a low 14 on the quarter, something a g20 would never do.

Its 260HP and 260Torque. Can do a low 14 second 1/4, I mean like a 14.0, enough to beat a 2k2 Max
