Red face Squealing engine noise

I have a squealing engine noise at about 1500 to 2000 r.p.m. coming from the serpentine belt area. It rises and falls with the speed of the engine. Has anyone had this problem before? The belt is new an tight. I suspect a pulley bearing or the alternator. any help on this would be greatly appreciated.
