Hey LadynRedSi ...
Hey im curious why did you decide to go with a sohc swap instead of the dohc?..also if you did it just for the vtec wouldnt it have been easier to just do a mini- me ?Oh and since you used a D-series engine what parts from a 88-91 civic can be used with a newer engine? thats it sorry for the questions just curoius.

wow, i just got home from a hella long day. the shop does the sound for the classic car show (450-500 cars). i generally go because it's easy...i just hang around for "just in case" that way somebody who actually HAS to be at the shop doesn't have to sit around at the car show. but i didn't realize it was gonna be today until last night. yikes!
![]() there are a couple of reasons i went with the y8. i am a HUGE fan of the d series engine. i wanted to mod the d16a6 but, well...you all know what happened. the next best thing would be v-tec . then if you add turbo, you can be at the same hp if not more (depends on your set-up) than a b16. okay then, why not get a b16 and turbo it? it's turbo kit is spendy.okay, now let's talk about speed. every now and again i do get caught up a little on the street...but i try not to. i'm not all about speed. i just want a car that will be fun to drive on road trips. i want the car to be quick however, i don't have to be the fastest. BEEN THERE, DONE THAT! finally, i love the look on peoples faces when they see i only have sohc ![]() as for why i didn't go with the ZC...what can i say without starting a war up in here. let's just say, i, personally have not heard anything good about ZC that have been sold within the last say 6 months. and that's all i'm gonna say ami

oh yea...and you asked what parts could be used. i am tired so please forgive me if i forget something. the d16a6 Si stock parts that can be used with d16y8 are:
distributor ecu feulrail fuel presure regulator the parts mentioned above should all be used together. don't try and like use the distributor from the a6 and ecu from the y8. did that make sense aftermarket parts that can be used: intake header cam gear i was happy because i took the 3 mentioned above off the a6 right to the y8
