Identifying Transmission

This might be a stupid question, but I thought I would double check before I ordered my shift kit.

If I have a 99 Silverado 1500 Z71 with a 5.3L engine, do I definately have a 4l60 transmission?

You most likely have a 4L60E and you can tell by the shape of the transmission pan. The 4L60/4L60E have a very square shape pan.

I have the Transgo Reprogramming kit installed in my car and love it!

Re: Identifying Transmission

Thanks fellas! Ordering the Transgo kit right now. Anyone want to give me a play-by-play on how to install it? :-)
