Weird noise...maybe someone else has noticed it?

if i start my car and am standing next to it (smoking since i don't smoke in it), after a couple of minutes i've noticed that almost every time it makes this "click-click-click" noise in fairly rapid fashion, always three clicks, and about 1 second from the first click to the third... seems to be coming from the rear portion of the car...every time i've thought to listen for it, i hear it...i'm assuming it's normal, since i have no MIL and it runs fine...

any clues?

It sounds like the canister purge system doing it's thing, as the canister is located in the rear of the car.
