Pease help!!! Does it worth it?

Hi.

My friend thinks on buying this guys Corrado G60. That car has some problem, nobody knows what's wrong with it. This guy, after a few months of effort reached to start the engine but it still has no power. It`s like it has 20bhp. So he got bored of it and my friend thinks on buying that crap. He thinks he could do the engine, there can not be a problem that can't be fixed. And if he can't fix the engine, he replaces it and put the supercharger from the G60 on it. He has a 95 Vento/Jetta and he replaced/modded that engine (1.8 16V) and he's good at it. All we want is to know, is what could be the problem, and is there any sophisticated thing about a G60 engine?

Thanks for your help.
