Question Tranny Trouble??????

Sup Guys, Turns Out I Was Driving My 96 Aspire (automatic) And Heard A Low Crack-type Noise As I Came To A Stop. When I Tried To Accelerate, The Car Didnt Move. I Had To Tow It Home. When I Put It Into Drive, Reverse, Or First, The Car Just Revs Up When I Give It Gas But It Doesnt Move. The Tranny Fluid Is Fine. Do U Guys Have Any Idea What The Problem Might Be? A Sensor? Cable? Torque Converter? Any Feedback Would Be Greatly Appreciated. Thanks.

Re: Tranny Trouble??????

Hi, RE, Your aspire that won't move...FIRST, Check to see if you may have possibly snaped a CV, Joint/Axle shaft, If thats ok, You probably have an issue in the carrier/differental part of the transaxle, they were good for cracking side gear cross pins or the side gears, All I can say is I hope it's a CV Joint, that's cheape to fix compared to the trans issue...GOOD LUCK..Clay..

Re: Tranny Trouble??????

Thanks for the quick reply Clay. I worked on the car this weekend and found out the axles were okay. I dropped the tranny and took it to AC Delco for the free tranny diagnosis and it was bad. So I'm getting another and dropping it in with a new torque converter as well. Thanks again.
