Max Performance w/SOHC ZC.

Well you guys can see my setup in my sig, first off I know some people are going to want to argue with what I am about to say, and maybe I am wrong. But so far I have gone up against a 2000 Si w/Intake, beat him, then I raced my buddy's EF hatch with B16, exhuast, Intake. Hung right next to him. Then I raced a 03 Civic Si Egg exhuast only, pulled on him (a little). I then pulled on an RSX (STOCK) on the freeway. WTF? Did I get a good motor or do the fully modded ZC's just friggin pull? Anyways, maybe some of those guys don't know how to drive but does anyone here think if I turbo my car with this TD05 I have, will it be able to pull 13's or high 12's with 8lbs of boost on the ZC?

if thats all you got. these guys should be smokin you ff the line and then wavin. i dont know really but im pretty sure they should be beating you. but about the turbo thing. im not sure exactly what turbo that is but the numbers come close to what i have seen on a eclipse turbo so if you boost it and set it at 8. you should be in the high 13 low 14 i think but if your motor is built then damn i wouldent want to catch you on the street

Re: Max Performance w/SOHC ZC.

with that turbo and a good tune....on 8psi...13's are in reach... but an rsx...on the highway of all places...the si...ehh maybe if he cant drive for $hit...eather way its hard to say... i would do it anyway. just get it tuned by someone. it cant hurt unless you blow your motor.

See I told you guys, I will have to figure out a way to post a video. Anyways, the car is pulling 15's right now I guess I should have mentioned that I would have thought the turbo would knock off more than a second for sure. Hasn't anyone in here seen a ZC perform like that? I know one thing for sure sure sure. My buddy with the B16 EF I for sure was neck to neck with him, and him and his cousin drove it and we raced several times. Another note, the ZC power band is much higher than a D16. D16 is done at about 5800-6200, wheras the ZC is done at 7000-7400, and with the chipped ECU I can pull that no problem still chirping. One of the reasons why I was asking high twelves, the zc's are higher compression with a more aggressive cam so I figured more pick up and better high-end w/turbo. I was thinking a ZC should really friggin' pull in a rex if it pulls the way it does in the sedan.

Re: Max Performance w/SOHC ZC.

check out homemodeturbo.com they are in progress of building a fully built zc turbo engine. in the end he is expecting around 400hp and hes running 20psi. im pretty sure it is not done yet tho.

Re: Max Performance w/SOHC ZC.

jeff gave up on that zc a while ago he is currently running a build zc at 22psi as his daily driver and says it is slow compared to his other engines(might be that he is using an ssautoshit turbo). bbka hit 12's on a stock block(z6 i think) in a eg coupe but you are limiting your self by say 8 psi you should aim for a hp not a psi

Re: Max Performance w/SOHC ZC.

ahh ive posted a thread sorta like this 2 yrs ago and boy did i fire some heads up lol i had a 88 si block 95 z6 head..which was supposivley taken out of a jdm civic lol open intake manifold..ummm some cheap ass exhaust.. dc header..full igntion system..and the block had 88k on it and the head had 48k..anyways..i was not having a problem beating b18a/b's and was a hair ahead of my buddy who had a b16 sir2 swap in his rex..when i came home and posted that thread i had a huge head and was drunk lol but the bad part is the things i said were truthful..and these guys i raced i never known them to be bad drivers but i just figured i had a really nice solid d16.. but u on the other hand wtf is a jdm intake manifold? i hear the best flowing OEM intake mani is from a y8.. and ur beating k series cars on the highway? wow i dunno dude.. take the camera out with u nextime ur out cause this shit i gotta see.. and i have a td05 junkyard setup and done my share of research on it and mid to high 14's u will see juss by slapping shit together but. but 12's 13's will involve a little bit more time and money!! and some good pulls on the dyno with some tuning going on. but hey its possible and really im not doubting u in anyway.. if ur beating 00 si's hey cool hmm but if ur taking rsx's in the top end..take a peak over and make sure it wasnt a 50yrold lady with a automatic toying with ya

lol, it could be true I only raced one RSX. Anyways, the JDM intake manifold came off of a Fuel Injected ZC? or something, but it is like the usdm one, except it has bigger runners and injectors and it is missing a built in sensor in the back. I dunno exactly how much of a diff it makes, but it does help. I think I am going to leave that as my daily driver (non turboed) because I am trading in my evo for a WRX that is going to be a big project >=)
