Angry keyless entry problem.....

I HAVE A 95 LUMINA CAR WITH KEYLESS ENTRY. STARTED TO QUIT WORKING SO PUT IN NEW BATTERIES. WON'T WORK NOW AND WAS TOLD IT NEEDED TO BE RE-PROGRAMMED. THEY WANT $99 TO DO IT BUT WAS TOLD I COULD DO IT MYSELF. HOW? PLEASE HELP..... going crazy

I always thought the reciever in the car is coded to the remote, not vice-versa.

I doubt a recode will help. The remote is probably dead.

If you swap in new batteries, just hold LOCK and UNLOCK on the remote for 7-10 seconds to resynchronize them with the receiver.
