advancing distibutor

i want to advance mt distributor. but i have vacume advanec idf i change the springs and weights would it mess up anything?

its a gm 350

get a book about tuning smallblock chevy's... its kinda complicated stuff and i have no idea how it works lol

Springs and weights come as a kit and are usually color coded so they can't be mixed up. You normally get a chart that comes with it to determine which ones to use. You need to know your cam specs and carb cfms.
