I am considering purchasing a previously owned 2001 or 2002 Highlander. I would like any input about the vehicle from Highlander owners. I have driven a Highlander six months ago but I don't know how it will handle when the wind is blowing; how stable is it; what kind of gas mileage I can actually expect? It seems Highlander's are too expensive for no more capacity for passengers than a 4Runner, etc.. I like the way the Highlander drives.
Thanks, GC

Hey, I bought a used 2001 with 30K miles. Runs perfect! I love it! Of course I went with Toyota's Certified vehicle, and it has a 100K mile warranty bumper to bumper. If you're thinking of buying, buy from a company that has a warranty, also make sure you have all the parts on it that you want, like mud guards and spoiler. I forgot to ask for that. But I did get brand NEW floor mats. Anyways, hope this helps!

Old thread but oh well. We bought a Brand New 2002 Highlander (V6 4WD) about 1 year ago. Runs great, has less than 6k miles on it since we drive different cars. Thinking about selling it soon (around 9k miles) and getting a 2004 Matrix.
