Exclamation Pacesetter headers

I've heard alot of bad things about Pacesetter, especially about thier exhaust systems. But what about thier headers? Do they give good performance are they wortgh it? I have a 2002 2200 cavalier. Thanks for your info.

Re: Pacesetter headers

the monza cat-backs you can do much better IMO, but any of the Armor coated headers and you'll be golden. Don't get the black painted one, unless you send it off somewhere to get it coated yourself. It won't last very long since its mild steel.

Re: Pacesetter headers

My little brother just got a paceseter 2.2L exaust ( catback ) and it sounds decent for being on and automatic car. The original exaust from previous owner was ghetto rigged like a mo fo. So we just got a $185.00 exaust from some site which i cannot recall with free s&h so no complaints there and just put it on. It was not hard to fit on and sounds like i said decent. We just put on rk sport headers ( ceramic coated ) also. That made it nice lol.

Re: Pacesetter headers

I got the 4-1 pacesetter header and after that my car was over heating and i had to replace my water pump. I also wouldn't get a 4-1 if yours is a 2.2, get a 4-2-1, trust me.

Re: Pacesetter headers

I have the pacesetter headers on my '97 2.2L. I have had no overheating problems, no fittment problems, I had a considerable power gain and it sounds decent for a 4 banger (with custom 2.25" pipe all the way back and IMCO muffler, which is not a fart can by the way). The only problem I have had is a rattling noise from the bolt/spring system moving around at the ball flange where the collector meets the downpipe.
