so... i finally got my car back from the clutch/flywheel install, and first thing i do of course is try to get my cd player back in and working. initially it did nothing, then i discovered a fuse was blown. i replaced it, and the cd player worked fine for about 30 seconds and then it died again: fuse blew again. so i replaced the fuse again... and it didnt work. ??? to troubleshoot i put the stock tape deck back in which worked fine before this, and the red "security" light flashes, but it wont turn on either. im lost... it has to be something with the original harness coming from in the cavity. i think. any help would be appreciated. im leaving in a couple hours for hot import nights, Chicago, so faster help is better! thanks

Check all wiring. From your description it sounds like theres a short somewhere. Make sure no bare wires are touching the metal. Double check you have all connections insulated. Try that first. Rule out the easiest before you start ripping everything apart.
Hope this works for you

well i made sure the wires werent crossed or bare on the adaptor, but my problem comes before that. its either in the wires coming out of the cavity or the harness that came with the car that they're all attached to. oh, and now my turn signals dont work... the hazards are fine, and the fuses for the turn signals are good, but they dont do anything. why me..heh

rewire the power and ground wire to a different source. for the constant 12v lead, hook it up directly to the car battery (make sure it's fused). run the the ground wire to a different source, like to the chassis. for the constant ignition, wire it to the blue/white stripe wire of your ignition (near where you put your key in). the purpose of this is to run bigger wires (which i recommend 12 gauge). stock wires may not provide enough power and causes shorts sometimes. i had this problem before.
