94 sierra Problems

I have a 94 k1500, 350 5.7l, with 187,+++ miles. One would think the bugs would be worked out by now.

Stopped got gas one day; made it several miles when the truck died. Re-started a couple times and ran rough. Changed the fuel filter and it fired right up but had some hesitation. Made it to destination but it would not restart again that evening.

Changed pump and was back in business. About 2 weeks later I was in a hurry and stopped at the same gas station (mentioned above). Made it several miles and truck began running very rough and died. I was able to restart it and reached my destination. I was afraid to shut it off and let it idle for about 2 hours.

This truck is now running very rough and hesitates alot. Noticed my injectors were clogged; it was idiling up and down. One injector was just dripping gas every few seconds. The catalytic converter started glowing red. The exhaust is new along with the O2 sensor.

I pulled the EGR off and cleaned it up. STILL it hesitates and RPM tach is always twitching. It revs up before shiffting at times, until you take your foot of the gas. Idles better now but the service engine light comes on. Turn off the key and the light will go out.

At a loss on the problem. Somtimes it runs great at 60 mph.

Re: 94 sierra Problems

Sounds like you need to have the throttle body rebuilt including the regulator, and possibly the injectors replaced. If your cat is glowing red, then it is pluged and needs replaced, but don't replace it until you get the fuel problem fixed or it will plug again. Raw gas will melt the honey comb in the covert together.
