Question Breeze is cutting out

I have a 96 Plymouth Breeze with 92,000 miles. For some reason when I am driving down the road it starts cutting out randomly. I have checked the fuel pump, spark plugs, crankshaft.... what else could it be? Nothing seems to trigger it. It acts like I'm taking my foot off the gas and then slamming it back down again. It chuggs. Any ideas??

Re: Breeze is cutting out

There are a lot of things that can cause this kind of problem. I would do a tune up on the car, plugs, wires, air and gas filter, etc., and see if that took care of the problem. If not, I would get a Haynes manual and check the coil pack. I believe you can ohm it out and Haynes gives you the resistance readings, or you can take them to AutoZone and they will check them for you. BTW is the SES light on? If so what code is set. If need be AutoZone can read the code for you and it may point you to a particular sensor that is faulty. You really need more info to go on. Good luck!
