98 remote starter question

Can anyone recommend a remote starter kit for a 98? I was looking at one at the local parts store (Pep Boys). They had an optional E-Z install harness kit for Chrysler/Jeep up to 96, but nothing for a 98. I'd like to go this route instead of doing all the wiring myself. I want one with door openers too. (I have a factory remote already).

THX

Re: 98 remote starter question

An easy way to do it if you want to spend the money is take your jeep to circuit city and have them install one of the higher end Viper alarms. It will have the remote start, starter kill, and with power windows and locks you can also upgrade and get the components to be able to lock and unlock your doors and also roll your windows up and down. I used to have a 99 s10 and had one on it and it was wonderful no more getting in a cold car in the winter.

Re: 98 remote starter question

I used to install remote starts and i would recomend you to take your vehicle to a professional who is a dealer for DEI Directed Electronics Inc. the make some of the best remote starts on the market right now with the best range, If you want to install the remote starter yourself I would go with a Valet system made by DEI. If you need help with the wiring go to www.bulldogsecurity.com and use the vehicle wiring diagrams to help you figure out if your car will need any special bypasses for security, and also you can print out the wiring for your car and it will tell you where every wire you will need is along with what colors they are. hopefully this will be some help to you.
