Re: LT1 headers!

Well it depends on your states emissions, how strick are they. I know in Washington they now hook up to the OBI or OBII slot to check emmisions. Also while your at it a electric cutout would be good for the track or showing off in the street.

Re: LT1 headers!

I had a set of SLP headers on my '95 T/A. Although I loved them, I had the following issues:

1- GET THEM CERAMIC COATED!!!! No matter which brand, what you do, get them coated. I didn't. I wish I did. It got really hot under the hood after the header installation. I ended up partly wrapping the headers to help isolate heat form the starter.

2- I had trouble burning plug wire #5 until I ended up using Jacobs ceramic cap wires combined with those spark plug insulating sleeves and I still had to re-route the wire.

3- make sure your smog check station has competent employees. I wentto a place herei nCA and because SLP doesn't stamp the EO # on the headers, they were ready to fail me for it. The headers came withthe sticker that has the eo # and c.a.r.b. approval, but these idiots wanted me to apply the paper sticker onto the header! I actually had a heated arguement over this with them. I ended up going somewhere else to get the car smogged, and my car got a "failed smog" mark on its history because of that. If you have to have your car smogged, be sure you don't run into a crazy situation like this.

I hope you can benefit from this info.

THanks,

-BV
