Not a gear head..
Hey everyone..Im new here..Im 17. I have an 87 GTA trans am..had it for 4 years and my step dad have rebuilt the car..it was bad.. I put new carpet seats and so on and repainted it. Well I want to know aobut some work to do to make it a lil faster in the 1/4. Its got 3:27s for the gears and this summer im goin to get a moser 12'' with 3:73s. Im thinkin dart heads and some other things..but like i said..im only 17 and dont know a whole lot..just learned from what my step dad has showed me..Im getin to know more and more..but we are thinkin heads and cam and an intake..but i dont know what kind...I have 3 in flowmasters on it right now with 24K gold tips..no jokes..but other than that shes stock..let me know what you all think.

gold tip? and why? burnt fuel goes through there why would you pay for gold tips. Any ways you are on the right track, with heads, cam,and intake. What motor do you have? 350tbi? or is it tpi?

You should get the Holley Stealth Ram for your intake, I wanted to put one on my 87 TA, but local inspection laws put the kebash on that )

lol gold tips, it's where your car does it's equivalant to farting... it'd be like gold plating your ass lol... sorry
now that i have that outta my system, ya, if you got a good exhaust system, then exhaust is flowing out good, work on the inlet side of it, intake, heads, cam, you know, valve train, sounds like your going in the right direction with what you wanna do.

Iv have looked at the stealth intake before and its the 5.7 TPI..and the tips..I did it to match the GTA wheels..Its not to be niggerish or anything..it was just somethin that not everyother car at school had..Im puttin gold strips up the ram air hood to set the scoops off..but as far as preformance..Ill look more into the holley intake...
