Flowmaster vs Magnaflow

so i know magnaflow has more and better flow than flowmaster but i love that flowmaster sound. But i have been thinking lately and i think i will go with magnaflow. How much more flow does the magnaflow have over flowmaster? And how much hp will i see when i put a magnaflow muffler on over stock?

Re: Flowmaster vs Magnaflow

Just muffler?? Most gains are seen in doing the whole cat-back... the muffler will help a little but you will still have the restrictive factory piping

Re: Flowmaster vs Magnaflow

well i am doing headers also, but i said just a muffler because it has new cat back on it but i think it is stock, there is like almost no bends except the one by the muffler, so that is why i am not going to waist money on the cat back pipe. I am also later doing the lt1 cam, so it should sound nice.

I agree. I like the flowmasters that came with this car. They are also louder than the loudmouths I had on my other car, and they also sound better. I just can't wait to hear what it sounds like with the LT headers I get later.

Re: Flowmaster vs Magnaflow

Anybody out there have any numbers that prove flowmasters suck? Like horsepower difference between the two, or flow numbers or something besides just opinion? I have a flowmaster on my car and it sounds awesome to me, and I'm just wondering why a lot of people don't like them. You can say it's the design that makes them flow better but I would like to know just how much better. A 3 horepower differance isn't enough to say that they just flat out suck, especially with the $$$$ differance between the two.

Re: Flowmaster vs Magnaflow

Flowmaster > Magnaflow
Flowmaster sounds better on my V6 then a Magnalow does on a 30th Anniversary Edition.
