So it was a nice foggy day at 6 in the mornin. Decided to take a drive with my girl down the coast, you know, where Enzos eat pole. I see almost no good cars along the way, a deficit of anything to chalange the might and glory of the Relic.
Then it happens....I see some red out of the corner of my eye as I sit at a stoplight. No...its not the light its a car apporaching around the intersecton. A early 90's 911...TURBO!. Light goes green and I get a lil on it. I have to catch up...it is my duty! MY CALLING! I know the Sherriffs are all extra deep in this path so I keep it as mellow as I can, riding 5th gear slowly cutting my path through the jungle and tangle of commuter cars. And I arrive alongside....he hears the blowoff and loooks to his side to behold the relic. I smile, and tell my girl to BE PREPAIRED! He smiles and nods, dude looks like Steven Spielburg! (probally wasnt, but sure was funny) I downshift, with a smile the porshe does the same. He blips the throttle, and I wait for him to go but he wont, he waits for me. I hit it and im there! My rpms climb from 5K rapidly and I see him out of the corner of my eye following with all it had. 6K....7K...with a light touch of the clutch and a quick flip of the hand the gears switch from 4th to 5th. By 4K (98mph) I had about 3 lengths on him, and he let off pulling back fast. Victory was in the air, my girl was singing the Relics praises as the 911 rolls up, I give a thumbs up and he does too, waving and smiling happy for such a race! Indeed, it was a good drive through the fog of the coast!

Re: German Precision vs the Relic!
Only to have the Relics victory over the German power house be smashed by a LS1 Z28.
What's up with yer car? I shouldn't of pulled you that much... once 3rd gear hit the LS1 was getting into it's stride and was getting away from you at a rather steady pace. WTF... fix yer car... I shouldn't be faster now days.

Re: German Precision vs the Relic!
not to rag on your parade TV, but are you sure it was a turbo? the turbo's from the last 80's till now always ran low 12's.
edit: actually nevermind, i remembered wrong, it was the 3.2 liter early 90's turbo that ran mid 12's. the regular turbos until the 993 ran mid 13's.

Re: German Precision vs the Relic!
the very clean car, the spolier, the "turbo" on the back. And the fact it was right in Malibu...yah...pretty sure.
And yes, not sure what was up with my car, you didnt pull that much, but I should have been pullin on you.....I am going to get plugs soon, that should help things out. Also, after Vildini had the car last the fan setting was changed to 195 instead of 180....need to change that back.

Re: German Precision vs the Relic!
It Gteched at 13.2 @ something like 108mph?
The mph on the gtechs always seem a bit higher due to the fact it measures the full 1/4 mile rather than the 1000ft mark. So, realisticly it should be in the 105mph range. He hasn't had the time to get it to the track, tracks are closed right now anyways for winter. The 4.11 gears he just put in really helped wake the car up. Before, we raced from a Dig and he'd get off the line decently and I'd pass him by 2nd gear and just put distance on him. Now, we run about dead even. Like I mentioned in my previous post, we raced and I put some distance on him, towards the end of my 3rd gear at about 90mph I was on my way to putting half a car on him... his nose was roughly at my rear wheel. My car is a '01 LS1 Z28 6spd... K&N/Lid, Catback, Spec3 Clutch/HD Flywheel and some crazy mojo... more or less a stock LS1. At the track, with the crap stock clutch that wouldn't give me 3rd gear I got a 14.2 @ 104mph, backed up by a 14.3 @ 105mph... Pathetic for the mighty LS1, but stock LS1 clutch is... SHIT.... fuggin pressure plate.

MPH as I stated is usually a bit high. I don't go around stating my cars Gtech times, they aren't written in stone proof. But, it's a good indication of what the car should run at the track.
