Valve Cover stud boken

Hi, I have a 1991 accord lx. I installed a new valve cover gasker and over torqeud one of the bolts when reinstalling cover and snapped the stud off. I need to get this stud replaced asap and was wondering how to take the stud out. Do I need to take the valve cover off to get at the stud from the inside? It is the front drivers side stud.

Re: Valve Cover stud boken

I did the same thing myself and it is an easy fix...you can get a repalcement stud from teh dealership about $7....Take off the cover, again, and use Vise grips and clamp them on the broken end of the stud and twist off....

Then to install the new stud....place the cap on one end and then tighten down the new stud and then removethe cap again...and start over repalcing the cover.
