'98 2.2 idling problem plz help

Hello. I have a 98 2.2l cavalier coupe 5 spd. As of about three days ago, whenever my car is running and idling the rpms are normal then out of where they drop almost to stalling point. Also when i accelerate sometimes the car seems to misfire and the car jerks. The car has not stalled yet though. I do not have a tach so i can't give you exact numbers. My "check engine" light is not on. I do not know what the problem is. I talked to a guy at Auto Zone and he said to wait untill the light comes on then bring it to them to see. He said it might be the o2 sensor or a temp sensor. Thanks for the help.

I'm no mechanic, but, I had something similar to this situation happen to me with a Mazda I had. It turned out that my air intake tube was cracked, and letting air in. You might want to see if it could be that. It ran me about $100 to fix, but definitely solved the problem!
