1982 6/8 Engine Swapping?
I swapped the Chevy straight 6 originally in my 82 Sierra 1/2 ton for a 1986 Chevy v8 305. Lesson learned (1) I didn't have to change the Engine Cradle Motor Mounts but I did have to change the Mounts directly attached to the Motor itself. (2) Because the 305 is a 86 the wiring harness for the distributor is different and must be changed or rewired.
  The power steering pump and bracket from the van won't fit on the PU Trucks. David
