Re: My First VR4

start by reading the FAQs if you havnt yet.

it really depends on how far you want to go with your car. Are you looking to push 500AWHP? or do you just wanna set it apart from the crowd?

Re: My First VR4

how many miles??? if it's near 60K or 120K or 180K you need to do the 60K maintenance, check for boost leaks, change the oil, etc...

Yup what he said ... before spending time / money in upgrades make sure she has all the maintenance up to date. Treat her right and she's gonna last a long time.
Upgrading without maintenance can take you to even worse damage when something brakes.

Re: My First VR4

After checking that she is healthy and ready for mods. I would first go with the free boost mod and short shifter. if you are wanting more power gut the cats. get a manual boost controller, aftermarket fuel pump and up her to around 13-14psi. get a data logger to make sure every thing is all right.......

you would benefit from aftermarket brake lines and pads too........

these mods will get you saftly into 350+hp at the fly.....

Yeah how many miles does it have and who did you buy it from. If it truly is in great shape that's a hell of a steal.

I bought it from my friends nabor. It was his brothers but he died. he wanted to get rid of it so i asked him how much he wanted for the car. he knew what it was worth so i was kind of nervous about how much he would want. So he told me 3,000. I told if he would lower it and then he said 2,000. so i gave him the money the next day.

The car is 1991, has 167,000 miles runs really good. I'll try to post some pictures of both of my 3000gts if you guys are interested in seeing them.

Your 1996 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR-4 is the 92nd out of the 315 that were made that year. Only 21 of which are exactly identical.
