Fluid Change Intervals???

I need to find out the milage intervals to perform all the basic fluid changes...

-Tranny flush and new filter
-Front & rear diff fluid
-Transfer case
-Fuel filter

I'm sittin at 29,000mi right now and I can't for the life of me remember when I'm supposed to take care of all this stuff.

Transmission Flush & Filter - 50,000
Fuel Filter - 30,000
Front Differential - 30,000
Transfer Case - 50,000
Rear Differential - 30,000 Non Synthetic or 50,000 Synthetic (Has A Tag)
Power Steering - 30,000
Coolant - 150,000 or 60 Months

If all else fails read the owners manual and use the recommended fluids.
Also on the coolant manf says 150k or 5-7 years
I would not go over 3 years or 50K.
Also on the K&N filter keep it cleaned and go very easy on the oil in it and get a can of MAF sensor cleaner.
And use it often. Also for warranty work put your oem filter back in before you go in.
That K&N oil just loves to migrate into the MAF and air tempt sensors.

So, do the diffs from the factory have synthetic or conventional fluid in them? Or does it vary from truck to truck? Can I put synthetic in no matter what? I'm tryin to switch as much to synthetic as I can.

Here's a bit more besides just fluids:

Clutch Fluid Replacement
Vehicles with 6-speed manual transmission only: Change clutch fluid.
Interval: Every 25000 miles.

Engine Air Cleaner Filter Replacement
Vehicles without a filter restriction indicator only: Replace the engine air cleaner filter.
Interval: Every 25000 miles.

Exhaust System Inspection
Inspect exhaust system for loose or damaged components.
Interval: Every 25000 miles.

Fuel System Inspection
Inspect fuel system for damage or leaks.
Interval: Every 25000 miles.


Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement (Allison Transmission Only)
Vehicle with Allison Transmission only: Change automatic transmission fluid and filter.
Interval: Every 50000 miles unless the vehicle is mainly driven under one or more of these conditions: 1) In heavy city traffic where the outside temperature regularly reaches 90 F (32 C) or higher 2) In hilly or mountainous terrain 3) When doing frequent trailer
Interval: Every 50000 miles.

Evaporative Control System Inspection
Inspect evaporative control system.
Interval: Every 50000 miles.

Transfer Case Fluid Replacement
Four-wheel drive with automatic transfer case only: Change transfer case fluid.
Interval: Every 50000 miles.

Cooling System Service
Drain flush and refill cooling system. Inspect hoses. Clean radiator condenser pressure cap and filler neck. Pressure test the cooling system and pressure cap.
Interval: Every 150000 miles or every 60 months whichever occurs first.

Automatic Transmission Fluid and Filter Replacement (Vehicles without Allison Transmission Only)
Vehicle without Allison Transmission only: Change automatic transmission fluid and filter.

Manual Transmission Fluid Replacement
5-speed manual transmission only: Change manual transmission fluid.
Interval: Every 150000 miles.

Alright, all front differentials had conventional in them from the factory, some rear differentials had synthetic and others had conventional. If it had synthetic as a factory fluid it will have a blue plastic tag right above the fill plug. You can use synthetic in everything if you would like. Its just if it is tagged synthetic, thats what came factory and is recommended by GM.

As for the transfer case, Im not to sure if the newer models now all have the synthetic Auto Trac 2 fluid or not. Some from around 1999-2001 used ATF in the transfer case and the interval for those was 30,000. It all depends on what transfer case you have in there. There is a tag on that as well that will say what transfer case you have and then you can go from there. Another way is to just look at the fluid in there right now. If it is pink or red then its ATF. If its blue or green then its Auto Trac 2.
