I recently replaced my factory radio with an aftermarket one. The techs had to rewire and completely disconnected my amp because it wouldn't work w/new system. Ever since then my alarm system does not activate and my jeep won't start sometimes. I tried opening the door and resetting the alarm but that didn't work. I usually have to wait 5-10 minutes and try to restart the jeep. Sometimes this works. I got so frustrated one time that I started stomping on the gas pedal as I turned the ignition and it started. Is this a problem w/the alarm system or something else? My jeep has been very reliable and I never had a problem w/it not starting prior to the new radio. Help !!!

After looking through some of the other posts similar to mine I thought I'd try a few of the suggestions. Sure enough, I had carbon build up in fuel filter. I took care of that right away.

Re: 94 GC randomly won't start
I am willing to bet it is probably carbon build up after a while if you never cleaned it out before. Every since I had to pay quite a bit on repairs for cleaning out the engine and replacing spark plugs and all that I make sure I use cleaner every 3000 miles to hopefully keep it nice.
My 93 XJ also has a quirky habbit of sometimes just not starting though but if I throw it into neutral it starts right up. I've never been able to determine why it does that sometimes. |
